- I am never going to be rich...
I am never going to be rich...
I’ve come to a huge realisation this past week:
I’m never going to be rich…
If I keep selling my time.
For a while, I thought I was on the path to making $10K-$100K/mo, but then I did the math:
If I’m working with 4-5 clients per month, charging $1.5-$2K per funnel, I’d max out at $10K/mo. Sure, sounds decent. But I’d be grinding 24/7, which means less time for the gym, less time with people I care about, and barely any room to grow my personal brand.
Basically, I’d be stuck in a glorified 9-5.
That’s when it hit me: I can’t scale if I’m doing all the work myself.
So then… what now?
The plan’s simple.
Get more clients without having to personally build every sales funnel, write the copy, or craft the emails.
Which means I’ve gotta learn how to outsource my work so I can sell other people’s time and skills instead of mine.
You see, I could do it all myself.
I’ve got the time, I’d keep 100% of the profits, and I know the work would be done right.
But if I keep doing that, I’ll never scale. It’s more about learning how to delegate and start scaling smart, not just working harder.
I’m going to challenge myself
The challenge is to NOT do any of the work.
I’m challenging myself to NOT build any sales funnels, NOT do any copywriting, and NOT write any emails.
I want to find freelancers who can deliver at the same (or better) level. And while cold email is key to getting clients in the door, the real challenge is learning to scale by having others execute the work.
I could do everything myself and pocket all the profits, but this challenge is about building the skills that will let me scale my business long-term.
A message to you…
Look, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be doing the work yourself right now.
Whatever skill you’re learning, do the work yourself first so you understand the quality needed to get results for your clients. Master your craft first.
But once you’ve done that, then I challenge you to do what I’m about to do: learn to outsource and still ensure the same (or even better) quality.
Because here’s the truth: You’ll never be rich if you’re only selling your time. You need to shift to selling your skills, and then other people’s skills, if you really want to scale.
P.S. Stay tuned, I’m going to be sharing the ups, downs, and lessons I learn as I figure out how to hire and scale. It’s going to be a wild f***ing ride.
Best,
Jarrod
